Saturday
08.00am –
7:45am in the members Lounge for draw at 8am.
09:15am –
We meet on the putting green between 8:45am & 9am (no later please). The draw is made at 9am to see who plays in each group. We tee off from 9:15am.
We play £1.00 for front nine, £1.00 for back nine and £1.00 for overall. If there are an even number in each of the groups, we also play a team game. These costs an additional £2.00. We have a folder in the men’s changing room that has a few basic rules concerning handicap adjustments, which are recorded, to make sure that everyone has a chance of winning throughout the year.
We have about 45 members in the folder but have not had that many turn up. On a nice sunny day, we normally have between 32 – 40 people and about half this number when the weather is bad.
We run a WhatsApp group and ask who wants to play each Friday evening (to give us an idea of numbers) but there is no penalty for a no show! It doesn’t matter if you don’t feel like it or you find you have other things to do when you wake up on a Saturday morning!
This is a fun swindle with a big handicap spread hence the low wager.
10:00am Ladies Swindle –
10am meet outside the Ladies Changing Rooms, for tee off around 10:15am. Jane Moulton organises and sends out an email to ask for numbers. Normally 10 – 20 ladies play on average.
